Albert Robison Lyman (1880-1973), and his wife Mary Ellen Perkins were the first settlers of Blanding, San Juan, Utah. He wrote an autobiography, poetry and historical biographies. Albert Robison Lyman was born on 10 January 1880 in Fillmore, Utah to Platte De Alton Lyman and Adelia Robison. He married Mary Ellen Perkins 26 June 1902 in Salt Lake City. Ruth Shumway Robinson was born 14 March 1900 in Fruitland, New Mexico, to Peter Minnerly and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Shumway. She married Paul Asbury Robinson on 29 September 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had three children. Ruth died 9 July 1993 in Napa, California.
